Futaba Failsafe was created by Klipkopwildlife
Since the difficulties that BB had with failsafe on his 14SG I have been meaning to do some checks. (The road to hell is paved with good intentions) Since all of my ESC are the type that shut down to 0rpm on no signal I assumed that this was the reason for no throttle failsafe. (Assumption is always the mother of fups)
Yesterday I had to modify the battery bay for my FunCub since it's battery had decided it was well past it's sell by date. While I was busy I decided to check failsafe using an old servo and a 5cell Rx battery. Guess what, nothing, no failsafe! Read this again, nothing, no failsafe!
Intrigued I then swapped Rx's, nothing! Finally I pulled out a Futaba RX (I don't use them because they're expensive and I would hate to lose one!) and hooked it up, bingo! Failsafe!
So there you have it, if you are using the El cheapo, Orange Rx's on Futaba you will have no failsafe! Question is, can you afford it?

My answer to that would be a definite NO.
This does suprise me, as I use the Orange RX with Spekky and the failsafe is fine. Anyone who is using Futaba got any ideas ???

On the Frsky and Orange Rx's you actually get a better fail safe on the ones with less channels ( the 617 only gives you fail safe on throttle). You set the fail safe on the Rx not in the transmitter. Once everything is set up the way you want, you press the bind button and release. This stores you fail safe settings. You need to disable any failsafe in the Tx.
This is in the instructions for the receivers !!!

With my 6EX and an Orange 6 channel receiver, I had a failsafe on signal loss, but not with the eight channel orange rx. Don't know why!

Duh, do you know how hard it is to wipe egg off your face! It's there on the RX instructions for all to see! And I'm the guy who says,'now it doesn't work, read the instructions!'

Don't have it set on the tx and the rx as it can cause glitching.
