I buy mine at events Klippy, there'll be some for sale at Old Warden over the weekend 23-24 Sep.

Where does your sister live, we could maybe get some to her via a suitable relay?

However, diesel fuel would be classed as dangerous cargo, so she might (should, in fact) have a good deal of difficulty getting it to you.

There's two big supplies in the UK of diesel fuel .

Neither ship, you have to collect in person so a local model shop near your sister would be the best bet

Agree with you there Klipy regards airlines, if you don't tell them they don't bother, iv brought several things to Cyprus with no problems, not that I would recommend anyone breaking the law you understand

I really do need to speak up here, and I'll do so as a commercial pilot who used to carry fare paying passengers on a corporate aircraft. Accordingly, I've done all of the relevant Civil Aviation Authority Courses on the carriage of dangerous goods and I can say that you are categorically NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY DIESEL FUEL in your hold, carry-on or personal baggage...or anything else inflammable for that matter. You'll find signs warning you of this around all the passenger check-in areas of the airport.

If you do want to carry such liquids, you must declare it in advance and carry out the appropriate safety procedures.

If you have carried such goods in the past and got away with it, you were breaking the law...accordingly, I would not post such an achievement on a public Forum.

Surely your AA (or RAC) man only saluted you if the car carried a badge.
I seem to remember those riding side car units used to salute even whilst driving.
Of course you were saluted anyway if you were driving a Rolls as it was simply assumed you would be a member and the patrol man couldn't risk being reported by an influential member for not doing so. The class system was alive and well even in my life time!

It might be a good time to try Deluxe Materials EzeDope , and their Aliphatic Resin and Superphatic glues. Both are water based and can be posted. My 30" Gannet was finished with their tissue paste and EzeDope, as was my KK Elf. In tests, the tissue paste came out lighter than cellulose dope for sticking tissue and empirically, I believe EzeDope is lighter than cellulose for the same depth of finish on Japanese Tissue.

Klip Can you find a supply in any other towns around J'burg? Just a thought which may possibly help. When I was a lad I asked our local chemist for anaesthetic ether he said no .But he said he could let me have some solvent ether. I've since found out there is no difference.Either he didn't know, ,which I find hard to believe, or he was salving his conscience. I have found that in U.K. you can get a licence or letter of permission to buy and store Ether. This would be in small amounts. Probably up to about 5 ltrs. Plenty enough for me. I'm looking into it. No use for you over there but I thought there might possibly be a similar arrangement there. Another approach I've seen is take an engine and as much info as you can ( in print if poss ) to a chemist or two and see if you can sweet talk him into letting you have a small quantity. Offer to sign poisons register too. John
