spectrum DX6

i bought one new May last year when I damaged my Futaba FG8,dropping it..Noone had a reasonably priced Futaba cheapest being £500 so had £125 with a receiver the Spectrum was a bargain.It also is very high spec with 250 model memory.In fact the repair of the Futaba was almost as much as the cost of the Spectrum but included an update which did bring it near to the Spectrum.Unfortunately it all went wrong when the Spectrum lost contact with my model a Pulse in March of this year.I sent it to Horizon Hobbies for repair ,It took 2 months but was returned fully repaired free of charge.Unfortunately I havent been able to try it as it was returned without the lipo battery which Im still waiting for.

You can but a Futaba 12 SG for about £375 I bought mine when they first came out and paid 425 for it, don't know where you shop but £500 is way over the top, as for going from Futaba to Spectrum well that's another argument

this was over a year ago Eric and since then Futaba have brought out other models of receivers.I was primarily looking for a second controller as mine was a, broken and b,full up On the plus side I have a stack of spectrum receivers that have rocketed in value all new in there packaging

I've heard of this business of gear being returned minus Lipos.It a ruling that Lipo batteries can't be carried installed in anything. Not sure of the reasoning behind it may be that there is a fear of the appliance or whatever being on and draining the lipo to the danger level where it may ignite.

I gave up waiting and bought a new battery which has risen fron £29 to £41

I did this because my other controller wouldnt switch on .went for new battery for that as well but could only get one fron America.Several charges later my old battery resurrected itself and is now performing very well

Well done with the battery recovery .It just shows it pays to persevere. doesn't it. NimHs and NiCads can be recovered by flashing the pack with a higher voltage.I use my welder to do this but don't maintain contact. A quick swipe across the terminal is all that's needed. Works for power tool packs too. DO NOT attempt it with LIPOS Instant fire ball.

think Ill peresevere with my method lol
