So - it is compatible with Spektrum tx's, not Futaba. Are you trying to use a Spekky module in the Futaba tx - or the Futaba tx without any other module?
Futaba is FASST, not DSMX, and the two will not match up!

AND it brownouts at 4v. What supply were you planning on using to drive it? A 4 cell nimh is only 4.8v! Four servos moving at once can momentarily drop the volts to less than 4, even down to 3.5, depending on the load. As the notes say, this rx is for quadcopters, - where there are NO servos!

Patent pending Model Match prevents flying a model using the wrong model memory (feature does not work with module systems)
Servo Sync (feature does not work with module systems)
Which I guess means it won't work (properly?) with your set up.
I have a Redcon cm703 (but with no satellite) and it works fine on my Spektrum DX6i.

I have successfully used a couple of Orange fasst rx's with the Futaba.
Doesn't really help much, does it!

It's for the 8" Sopwith Pup I built. The only RX I could find was this one from Banggood.
Anyway about a week ago I decided to put it all together, of course it's too late to send anything back! I found the JST plugs wouldn't fit! so attacked the servo plug to no avail! After doing the checking that I should have done when ordering I discovered the sockets on the RX are JST 1.0mm and the servos have JST 1,25mm plugs. Grr, well it is only a 10thou difference! Correct servos now on order.
After having thought about it for a while I realised I could still test if I hooked up the motor to the RX board, naturally the battery connections don't match so I had to make a plan.
Do it now, you may never get another chance

Reading about the TX module reveals the existence of a row of dip switches inside the module. Opening the case reveals the first problem, while the web site clearly shows switches the module has none, just a row of solder pads. So, think I, being a Neanderthal, I could solder straps across the pads to change the functions. But being an idle bugger I decided to try without. So, first check the T9 is sending a PPM signal (some can be changed to PWM). To start the bind process, press in the bind button on the module and switch on, then power up the RX. Nothing except the RX light turned from solid to flashing (it may have done this before).
Now here's the thing all my life Ive been trained to switch the TX on, then the RX, it's ingrained! However this TX normally has a Assan 2.4gig module in it which only works if the RX is on first and then the TX with all rates are on full. (I did know why but my brain is like Swiss cheese these days)
Powered up RX, light went from solid to flashing, switched on the TX with the Bind button pressed, kept it pressed, the RX light went solid, and Bingo it's bound and the motor runs. I have no doubt that the servos will also be fine once I get them.

I'm not sure how far an 8" Pup is going to be before it's out of sight, certainly not very, with my eyesight! Although the blurb does not mention whether it 's full range the Redcon blurb does.Eric wrote: Looking at Tony's rx - one short antenna tells me it is only a short-range park-fly.

However, back to business, the purpose of my excercise was to determine whether the Orange TX module as fitted in a Futaba T9CP would operate a receiver marketed as "DSM2/DSMx", which it does.
What has popped up out of this discussion is that Binding a DSM receiver can be initiated from either the TX or the RX. Suppose you are at the patch and you switch on ready to test, and someone else who has left their Bind plug in switches on their aircraft. You then switch off, the next time you switch on you have a potential shoot down, a long shot, and I'm sure someone else could explain it better.
It certainly explains why people who fly DSM alone, (I'm thinking Garry (RiP) and Simon) never have problems.
With the exception of Futaba 2.4gig all of my TX's initiate the Bind procedure from the TX at a greatly reduced TX power. I know which I prefer!
Rereading this reminds me of something my Managing Director once said "When you're up to your backside in Crocodiles, it's often difficult to remember the original intention was to drain the Swamp!"

My issue with the single short aerial is the risk of it being 'blanketed', particularly if it set straight down the fuselage so it is 'end on' to the Tx with the motor exactly in the way. For a tractor the risk is greatest when the plane is low down and coming towards you - like on finals?
