How things have changed

Since my sister is unable to collect the Bucker on her trip to the UK I've been looking around for a suitable kit or scratch build project to put a DLE-55RA into. My thinking is SMC have one at a reasonable price and I'm going to need one when the Bucker eventually arrives.
While doing comparisons I remembered that I bought a NiB Zenoah 23 some 12 years ago, when I eventually found it, I weighed it flight ready, 1.65Kg or 3.6lbs in real money. A cross check on the DLE shows 1.565Kg flight ready, or 3..44lbs.
The Zenoah turns an 18x8 at 7k rpm, the DLE 23x8 at the same revs, it makes me wonder if it's worth putting the Zenoah into anything!

Was it not originally a chainsaw/strimmer engine?

It's marked G230PU which is supposed to be for aircraft use. As much as anything I was gobsmacked at how power to weight ratio has changed. I bought it for a Glens models 68" CAP 232 kit that I got from somewhere, the Zenoah was one of the recommended power plants.

I see Glens models recommended the Zenoah ZG23 which has a rearward facing carburetor. Mine has a sideways carburetor, I can't see it's going to make much difference, the ZG has a right angle manifold for the carburetor which I feel will reduce power somewhat.
