HobbyKing Hall Cherokee 1.7m EDF glider

I have something very similar, the Graupner Hott Fan, loosely based on the Salto glider.
The fan is mounted on a pivot, and folds into the fuz when not needed, via a servo, and the spring-loaded hatch doors close over it. As the fan can be raised or lowered without running the motor, it can also be used as an airbrake, because this little model certainly moves around, and is moderately aerobatic. I think the wing section is Eppler 193, as it likes to go, and doesn't want to slow down. If you get it too slow, it starts to waffle about, and if you insist, it drops a wing.
Like all ducted fans, it is quite power-hungry, and a 3S 1800 lipo gives about five minutes, before the fan shuts down.

Then some close-ups of the fan closed, half open, and fully open, using a separate channel to the speed lever, so the fan can be used as propulsion or brake.
