At 1.7m wingspan this is one BIG foamie. Bigger is better and this Grand Tundra flies much like it's original 1.3m version from 2 years ago but in a BIGGER much more stable way. Same big Bush wheels, same big barn door flaps...but there are some awesome new enhancements. 6 part light system is one nice addition as are the turbulators on top of the wing to reduce the stall speed.

Does it have the same pitch-up when the initial stage of flaps are deployed?
I could barely hear what you were saying during the flight test, due to the wind noise. Will your camera take a radio mike?
Looks nice, but I think I'll stay with my purple plastic one for now!
You didn't use the full 90' flaps either - was ikt too blustery?

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Didn't notice pitch up but to be honest it was such a windy day I wouldn't have noticed it above all the turbulence. Actually had a wind muff over the mic but it only prevents so much noise. Was a lot worse without BUT what I will do is get another mic to plug into the second XLR port on the camera. I could only get the flaps to 45degs. The arms were shorter on the flaps than the ailerons. Not sure why. Could be I'm doing something daft but I don't see any other way to get more throw mechanically other than changing to longer arms. More on that soon.

The mechanical linkage works the other way round surly, the shorter the flap horn to the servo horn will give more throw
Just takes more pulling,

I will have another look at the flaps today and share with friends down the field to see if they can figure out when I'm doing wrong but in the meantime here's some better flying vid. Was very tentative on the maiden flight but more low aeros on this one. It's a stable thing even in knife edge and inverted.
