I picked up this cheap this week


I wonder if anyone can reconnise the make




I think it is an old kit


The retracts are worth more than i paid for it

Looks good quality, but then I don't know much about that kind of plane.

Doesn't look cheap in my book, put it that way :)

Definitely not a VQ then, the motor looks like a Zenoah.

The fusalarge is all fibreglass, and the engine is a petrol one again no markings so i dont know what it is, one for you Grumpy,

There are no pushrods or control horns visible except for a very small one on the rudder, and all the servos are there fitted, Futaba
The one you see in the wing stub is for the aileron

It came with a cowl, slideing canopy and a nice pilot and cockpit








The only down side is it has no wings :dry:
So i will design and build some to fit it.
A job for the winter when i get my modelling room back
In between the A10 Thunderbolt and the 126" Spitfire

I used to have a big glider using that square drive system for the ailerons. (In the days when if you had four servos, you were rich!). The system worked great on the floor, but n the air, they just locked up, because as the wing took the load, the torque rods locked up. Plus, if the wings weren't quite flush with the root, the square drive on the end of the rod came out of the socket, and again there were no ailerons. That made for some 'interesting' but not very controlled frights! (Yes with an R, not an L!)

SOLD IT.
It was a Barron kit from the USA so im told by the man that bought it.
I made a huge profit on it 0 euros but a new English modelling friend with a fully equiped workshop to make the retracts for the A10 Thunderbolt and any other model in the future :P :P :P
