Decisions !!!!!

I am finishing a Mick Reeves Hurricane (Not the 1/4 scale ) over this winter in hopefully Mk 11C Night Fighter attire.
I like to research and plan ahead for builds so would like your opinions on what to go for after this one, plan built.
BT 76" P47 razorback
BT Typhoon
BT Hurricane.
These are my three favourites. I have built quite a few plan built models, was RN aircraft engineer for twelve years so know how to hammer a nail in, was in mech Engineering till I retired engineering drawing also so can read and write. will my skills be enough for the Jug do you think, this is my preference,with the tiffie 2nd as I will have Hurricane already. Tother factor is I have the laser cut wing ribs for the BT Hurricane with the plans.Traplet is only round the corner from me so will be plan collection as I hate folded plans and creases.

though i am a hurricane nut (having built 5 so far) and have a part built 80" mick reeves one to finish as well.

got any pics of your hurri. i think i will do mine as a desert tank buster version.

The Tiffy builds VERY heavy at the ass end, and WILL need oodles of church roof at the front to balance, Brians plans are scale, so the nose will be scale length, the full size motr was over a ton in weight, its a very very short nose, any tiffy is a no brainer for me, unless its HUGE, , the thick wing will help you, but you had better know how to use flaps, and have a good surface to get her down on,

The Hurricane is well known, but do you need one when you have the reeves one? (off me, i might add)

P47s of any breed are the dogs danglies for flying, wide undercart, decent nose, and tail moment, ruddy big round cowl, they, like model zeros, ALWAYS fly well, i would go P47 and not even think twice, BIG wing, streamilned fuzz, its one of the best full size to model conversions out there,

The Jug is my real choice as I think it's a cracking a/c ready for plenty of scale.Re the Hurri build tony it is pretty much as it was when I got it off Alan,apart from putting the bottom half of the fus on some straight thick timber and regluing broken joints square and replacing broken stringers,every third one with 1/8" hardwood stringer. I will soon start cutting the top formers, guy i know gave me a built up wing which he made for his, I also bought the air retracts he used on it. I have OS 120 fs pumper to go in it.
I have no pics yet Tony but I have on my other pc ( which is knackered at mo) some pics from Bob Ripley in the states who built on and will try and sort out for you.It was either on RCU or RC Groups,if you search Ginger Lacey Hurricane it should come up as i don't know when pc will be back. I am using my sons spare laptop at the mo.
Effin puters I really, really hate them, give me anything mechanical anyday.

i already found the ginger lacey build.
mine needs the foam core wing re-covering and lots of other work.

but i do like my hurricanes.

Pehaps, seeing as fly navy has a nice built up wing, you can both reach a deal for his untouched set????

Been doing some loking and thinking about this ere jug.
Never seen a BT one in the flesh,now if go down to Traplet and collect plan,short wood kit,canopy and F/G cowl it will knock me £172 at current prices.
I saw a Top Flite Gold Edition one at the Nats and was talking to the builder,he said it was a lovely uild,the cowl was solid when built although it was not F/G,but for true scale afficiondo's it isn't true scale,looked bloody lovely to me,this is smaller wing span by about 12" and the complete kit retails at £193.
Money isn't the problem,which do you think is the better deal?
Whichever I get the build and finish will be the same,ok for me but not the purist's.
Anyone had any experience of TF kits please?

The top flite jug flies great, and the gold edition kits leave nothing out, they are near scale, and do the job, i flew one of a mates of mine, his was the razorback, it looks bigger than its size, he flies his on a 120 surpass, and it has oodles of power, one thing you have to watch, it gets the starved horse efect on the turtle deck, on this area, use thicker sheet, but light sheet, if your not bothered about size, then go for the TF one, there are also cockpit available, drop tank kits, and all sorts, you can really make it look the part, although for me, i would have the YT one, cos at your time of life, Yowd git, it might not get finished

they build well but are heavy.

M e like heavy with a fighter, it flies like a fighter, not a powder puff, my corsair is not a heavy weight, my mustang, same as yours, was glassed and painted, it flew on a ST91, i loved the thing,

The model I saw at the Nats in i the back of his estate looked stunning Al,seriously might consider this one.
Now "Foxtrot Oscar" to the sunshine !!!

Might come and kneecap you for that redundant 120 surpass now.
