I have decided to start again from scratch.
With my newly learned CAD skills
I am not fitting contra rotating motors as i just cannot afford them, so single props will be the order of the day.
So stand by for a long slow drawn out designing session for a new mr2 Shackleton.

Very pleased to see some movement on this in a different direction for sure, and to maybe help that along the way, contra rotating props are a lot easier than we though using only one motor, 2 large bevel gears, and 2 small bevel gears to provide the reverse coupling, or even 2 of the old Meccano type gears that had a 90 degree turn at the outer edge, with ordinary pinions as the reversers.
Don't have the CAD program here at this stage to mock something up, suffice to say that it's going to be very easy to do with very basic tools, and a few bits of Aluminium angle. A small lathe would make some of it simpler, but even that complication could be avoided without too much trouble. A possible source of gears would be the differential as used on some of the racing cars that are readily available, and the casing could also provide some of the support structure.
I suspect this thread is going to be watched with more than passing interest! Thinking of CAD, which program are you using? Could be useful going forward, when it comes to printing full size plans for construction, as there's a large plotter here than can print 42" one dimension, and a lot further in the other dimension, so well able for something like a full size wing layout plan if needed.

Well it will take a while to get the plans all drawn up.
going for 11th scale now, so thats nearly 11ft wingspan.
should be nice and light being made out of depron.
