Top Flite P 51 refurb

Well i picked up the last of the models that Garry left me in his will on sunday.

I gave one to Monz and have kept the other three.

one of them being the mustang i built for Garry 5 years ago,
It has been stuffed into the ground at some point and badly repaired, so i have got my work cut out to get it sorted.

i fixed all the breaks in the wing and recovered the surface with some more tissue and floor varnish.
so it was time for a repaint.



I am going for RAF colours as every one has a silver one.
i am alos going to convert the fuselage to the "B" design rather than the "D" as it is now.

Looking good Tony. I do prefer the look of the earlier P51's, and in RAF colours too :)

Looks really good, but is that fus roundel correct? The normal outline to the C1 roundel was yellow, not white, or is it just waiting to have the yellow applied?

Finally got to do some painting this evening.



nearly finished, one more coat on the underside and the canopy glazing to go.
phew
can get back to the Lancaster once this one is done.
