Model Aircraft Wings Club?

In the 1960s I was a member of the Golden Wings Aeromodellers club. I have my original club badge somewhere in the attic but have no idea where. So about 3 years ago I decided to put a saved search on eBay to get another and after a couple of years I acquired two. Also when I looked up the badge I found a picture of it online and alongside it was another similar badge called the Model Aircraft Wings Club? It was red and would you believe after 3 years one finally came up on eBay and I won it. The problem is I can find absolutely nothing about it.
There are plenty of adverts for the Golden Wings Aeromodellers Club of which I was a member but nothing of the Model Aircraft Wings Club.
Apparently it was a club in the 1950's but I cannot find any references to it in any of my old Aeromodeller mags which go back to the 30s and 40s.
Has anyone here got any knowledge of it? 
 

My goodness Eric, you haven't lived.. I was born in 1954 and joined the Golden Wings Aeromodellers Club in 1964 (as well as becoming a field agent for the Man from Uncle club and recruiting new agent with notes created from my prestigious official free Man form Uncle invisible ink pen). The GWAC had a regular article in Aero Modeller every month as far as I can remember... obviously if you weren't a subscriber (via newsagents ) you probably wouldn't have seen it. BUT this Model Aircraft Wings Club info remains elusive...

I am interested to know when you actually started aeromodelling and what your first model was? Are you one of the early electric flight pioneers? The first proper model I built was in 1964 when I was 10. It was the Mercury Marauder. I used to hand tow it and had a dethermalizer on the tail to bring it down. Had a lot of fun with that... I didn't start RC until 1970. I designed a 36" trainer and bought a Harry Brooks RC. Haha, it spent more time hitting the ground than the sky. Then I up'ed my game to Skyleader and rarely had any issues.

We i as Eric says was hatched in 1940 and i have never heard of it either, 

ell would you believe it 2 years after I posted this at last I have found out a little more about the club. I found that they had their own magazine called "Model Aircraft" of which historic copies are available on eBay. It looks like the club was formed about 1952 probably by a chap called Alan Winterton. If you look in their magazine it contains an entry form to apply to become a member.  

And it just gets better. Surprisingly after a couple of years with an eBay saved search it came up with this so I purchased it. A bit of rare model aircraft nostalgia for sure... 
It is an original membership package with waterslide transfers as well. It doesn't seem to include the lapel badge but I already have one that is pristine. In fact it was that that sent me on this mission. 
 
 

Well 3 years down the line and another one has arrived even better than my other one. If you wait long enough nearly anything will arrive...
 
Very unusual to find nothing on the Internet about this club other than what we have posted into this forum... 

A Mercury Marauder!
My now deceased elder brother builr one in 1960. I duly inherited it and converterd it to 3 channel RC in 1970.
Removed the polyhedral, built a new fuselage with an all moving tail plane.
 
Ridge soared it a couple of times.
Much later (2019) addded electric power.
 
Probably not too wise a move as the wing was by then over 60 years old.
Flew OK a couple of times under power but a slight over correction with the all moving tail plane over loaded the wing!

It appears the Model Aircraft magazine was taken over in the 1970s by a publishing company and duly reappeared in a slightly different format with a new name although it was later renamed Model Aircraft. It now appears to be defunct - again.
