I do think the Conservatives have scored an own goal with the election of their next leader. All party members say they are concerned that their "wipe out" at the election was the result of a complete lack of trust in them by the population but the leader election process hardly instills confidence.
The party may be happy with the "democratic" voting leadership process but its not the members that lost confidence. Its was Mr & Mrs average voting general public.
I have watched several political "discussions" on the TV and I fear much of what is said will do little to address the"confidence" issue in any party! I have been around long enough to know it won't make a vast difference whoever tries to run the country.
Enough politics!
