XPS Hawker Hunter F6 repairs

After the crash on the 16  Mar 2025.
 
A start has been made on the new nose.
 
It will be quite a complex repair as the damaged airframe will have to be cut back to accept the new nose.
It will not be a simple cut either as it will have to take into account the bifurcated air intakes and part of the ducting.
It would be no fun if it was too easy!  .

Progress on the new nose. I even managed to salvage the windscreen and canopy.
 
its new nose cone is printing as I type.
Then try to organise actually fitting the new to the remains of the fuselage. 

A bit of a nightmare to fit but the new nose is on.
 
It will have to stand like that for 24 hours for the glue to harden.
It will take quite a bit of fiddley work to restore the joint to full strength let alone get the radio, ESC and battery squeezed back into the cockpit.

Still working on the Hunter F6.
Managed to squeeze in the ESC, radio and a battery box into the cockpit.
 
The ESC is in the RH (lower in the picture) cockpit wall with the tips of its finned heatsink projecting into the air stream just ahead of the intake.
The Rx is on the LH side so allow space for the battery to be slid forward into a box in the nose.
It os now virtually complete with just the decoration to restore.

So far so good.

I flew the Hunter F6 yesterday.
First flight no problem apart from it needing full left trim.
Should have stopped there and then but decided on another flight.
Got low down flying directly towards me - not good-- needed to land and touched down too fast and caught a wing tip. Result a rapid ground loop.
 
The problem being it also snapped the PLA exhaust tube..
It required a replacement bit of tube that fitted onto the EDF and also fitted over the remaining exhaust tube.
 
It will be a bit of a game getting all the break surface glued and fitting it neatly back.

Even when it is all fixed I will have to find out why it needed full left trim. I fear the foam in one wing might have started to break up.
