Just for fun, I bought one of those minimumrc microhawk edf's.
It has a six blade 30mm? fan at the back of the fuz, driven by a tiny brushed motor, and three channel r/c with a gyro all in a block that is about the size of a present postage stamp (it's a five channel rx!). It weighs in at 62 grammes including the battery. (2S 180 Mah - 12.6 g). and 38cm span.
It comes in kit form, of some sort of skinned foam. No carbon bits. You have to stick on the two tailplane halves, the fin, the wing, and a belly-pan - using the supplied glue. The difficult bit is waiting for the glue to cure before doing the next bit! Then hook up the four pushrods.
The fan, rx and servos are already installed. There's a 'cheat-hole' in front of the fan, underneath the fuz.
The one in the camera seems to fly ok - the tricky bit being to keep it close enough to see!
