Weekly Email Notification

Just received an email with the latest posts from the Forum.

It's a good idea in principle, but in practice it's just sent me a list of posts describing the issues we are having and a 'politically incorrect' joke. I don't believe it's the stuff we should be sending in a round robin email, esp the Joke and Cafe threads with their inevitable adult content.

So, in the short term I recommend we pull the facility until most of the snags we are having with the Forum are ironed out. Then in the longer term if the function is re-initiated, inhibit the Chat Room and Jokes Threads.

I can see your point on this Andy, and knew it was going to be sent out, but didnt know the content of email until I read it. As this is , I understand, only being sent to the complete list of members past and present , and is an attempt to maybe jog their memory that we DO still exist, and that a new site has been made out of the old one . It is certainly an easier way of contacting members who have not logged on to the site for a long time rather than my method of emailing each one independently, which 1 st didnt really work, and 2 nd took an awful long time

Thanks for the responses and I see no probs with what you're saying. I'd also like to reiterate that this is an observation and not a complaint, so I'll leave it to you 'mods' to sort out which way to go.
