Unless you want to use the Key Fob as a PC cam (which with the right driver you can) Windows does not need to recognise it as a camera but only a "Removable Drive (H:)" or whatever the next spare letter is. It will do this as soon as the Key Fob is plugged in.
Window will ask if you want to open it to view the files.
It will then show the folder DCIM. This folder has 2 more folders in it. PHOTO holds any pictures as JPG files, 100MEDIA holds any video as AVI files.
These files can be viewed directly and transferred to your PC for storage.

This is more or less the same routine as for a proper digital camera but they tend to have proper detailed instructions on how to do it!

Dont forget the Key Fob is on charge all the time it is pugged in whether or not the PC is actually switched on so don't forget to unplug it!

I think Im ready to try the camera on the fun cub.Im going to mount it on the outer edge of the wing.It weighs 17 grams so Ill put 15 grams on the otherside to counter balance it.Ive bought some velcro patches ,I wont rely on the glue Il pur cyano on to ensure a good adhesion.Ill also tesyt how well its held on before flying.I think the best position would be under the wing but it feels more risky, just have to see how things go :woohoo: Just realised I weighed it with the chain on but maybe I should cable tie the chain just in case it slides off,I could even drill a couple of holes in the wing and cable tie in position if necessary.

I found velco remarkably wobbly when holding the cam in the slip stream but try and see.

I would remove the chain but secure a line to the hole in the camera case to ensure it is not lost if the velco 'lets go'.

I look forward to seeing the resultls.

You just delete the files as you would on any other hard drive.
Simply highlight the file name(s) and press delete. It will ask for confirmation.
There is no recovery, when its gone its gone.

Velcro definitely no good, all cameras need a solid mounting when out in the slipstream!

Not sure I can help with that one.

I don't use (trust?) the automated import feature so I physically 'drag' (it actually copies) the file(s) from cam to the desired folder on my PC.

This screen grab shows a video file on the cam about to be copied to "My videos" folder. When complete I just delete the file still showing on the cam folder on the right.

Its a bit of a 'belt and braces' approach but with the vast hard drives on PCs now if a file is transferred to an 'automatic' location it can be the very devil to find!

I do the same thing myself Simon, I've had too much stuff 'disappear' into those awful numbered directories that Microsoft uses.

Before you click 'save', give it a proper name by clicking the box of numbers, deleting the contents, and putting your own title in. Then in the box below, check what format it is being saved in. If you right click the box, you get a drop-down with different options. If you are 'savvy', you can tell the computer WHERE to save the file, too.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
