It's getting there, paint needs a flat and polish, cabin needs glazing, cowl needs attaching etc etc but the to do list is definitely getting shorter.
ran the engine the other day, turns a 9x4 with gusto.

balsa is best.

Looking very good Paul. A very 'period' colour scheme too.

Looks great Paul :) It has a lot of dihedral, what's the reason behind that ?

It is normal for a RET (rudder, elevator, throttle) only plane to have significant dihedral to ensure it banks adequately under the influence of just the rudder and to ensure the bank comes off again when the rudder is centred.

Stability crash, it's a 75% scale of a junior 60 and was originally designed for free flight..

That's great thinking ! So when the engine packs up mid flight, you can land dead stick ! [badass]

As is ( cream n red) I am going to put it's name (just junior) on the fin in a suitable thirtys style once I pluck up courage to do it, only get once chance when doing things like that and I may do "something" on the wing....

I don't know how you've connected up the servos but if you're going to fly Mode 2 can I suggest you connect the rudder servo to the aileron channel? If you have already done so please disregard.
There is a reason, when Garry Pollard built his first plane, a 3 channel, he connected up as instructed (rudder on the rudder channel) and taught himself to fly, by the time he had his first full house plane it was too late to change so the rest of his life flew Mode 4!

I've always flown throttle/ailerones on the left stick, rudder/ elevator on the right, no idea what mode that is?
actually I'll correct that statement, that's the way I do it flying 4 channel, if the model has ailerones but no rudder then I fly ailerones on the right....
Oh better add I passed my "A" way back in 1990 so although I'm a newbie here I have had experience just a bit rusty but thanks for the advice Klipklop.

If I'm correct that's Mode 1, made popular by the aerobatics guys in the 70s because there was less risk of nudging the elevator or aileron channel during maneuvers (remember they didn't have Exponential back then). As an ex full size pilot I can't get on with it so fly Mode 2, it makes more sense to me.
