As you may know, the Rise Nano is a Plane Print model, when they offered me a 15% discount on this I couldn't resist.

I'm a sucker for large models, Biplanes and "T" tails

Over 14 hours into the print and another 5 to go, and it's not the largest part!

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Impressive but that's a lot of faith that nothing will go wrong during such a huge print!

Since I discovered that I had assembled my extruder drive incorrectly and the pressure spring was way too tight I am now at the stage where I switch on, load my settings, plug in the memory card, press the button and go. The last 3 weeks I've been doing longer and longer prints. The longest print on this plane is 22hours! The 19hour print I got lucky, I noticed the load shedding change gave me a 20hour uninterrupted window so went for it, it might be a while before I can do the 22hour one!
I managed to resist the temptation to get up in the night and check it!

I had another window of opportunity, this is 14hrs into a 22hr print.

After the Nano this is going to be big!

The pile of parts is growing larger, the wings consist of 12 pieces, average print time 12 hrs each. We had no load shedding today so I decided to do a print, wrong

7 hours into a 12hour print, grrr

Seven hours in - what? Did the power go off, or did the prnt go wrong?

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Its so big it looks like you will need a lot of LW-PLA  even without power cut losses.

Wow, a dozen parts to the wing and 12 hours average - that's a lot of LW-PLA.  I salute you for your ambition.

For the smaller print - the Nano -  how is that beastie?

Power went off in the middle of the afternoon Eric. The AUW is about 6lbs, I think about 1.5Kg of that is LW-PLA.
I'm at the stage with the Planeprint stuff that I just switch on and go. Having said that I'm struggling with one print which is a group of disparate components in the same stl. After 5 failures I decided to switch the LW-PLA to have a rethink about where I might be going wrong.

If you look at the failed print picture you can see the trailing edge has pulled away from the bed, here's a better view

It's about 4.5mm
I had similar problems with the Nano wings but not to a great extent.

Easily solved with gap filling Cyano.

I'm stalled on the wing printing, we are currently 4.5hrs off and 3.5 on, grr
So I've started to glue things together,

The edges to be glued are lightly sanded and interconnections inserted,

Add Cyano and push together.

I tend to include a 3-4mm brim when printing LW-PLA, especially for parts with some height.  I have yet to have had a pull up.  And the brim pulls off easily and 10s of sanding and all is go.

There's the thing Jon, it's got a 3mm brim, I'll up it to 5mm, I have to wait for a 12hour window before I can test.

I am surprised to see the 'pull up'. I have never experienced it on any of my LW-PLA  prints. In many cases that is with no brim at all.. On the other hand I have had terrible lift up with ABS.
I am printing LW-PLA at just 230 C due to limitations of my hot end and I do use a masking tape covered bed to which materials like LW-PLA really stick. It can need a thin sharp blade to prize the print off.
