Having just lost another load of Filament due to moisture embrittlement I decided to do something about it. I'm guessing that those of us who use one roll until it's finished don't have a problem. The problem arises when you have part used colours on the shelf (or worse in the printer) for months or years.
I started off by buying one of these:-

It's a temperature controlled box, 50oC is the maximum. There's a grommeted hole in the front upper corner that can be used as a feeder if you wish to use pre-warmed filament.
For long term storage I bought this kit of vacuum bags.

It consists of 10 bags, a pump, 10 Silica Gel bags and a sealing widget. That's the little white strip on the bottom right, without it the bags don't seal nicely, ask me how I know!

There's a valve at the bottom left, I managed to destroy the first bag, thinking the round hole was a sticker that had to be removed.

How it works I have no idea, but it does!

Once sealed using the tool you place the pump (un-pump?) on the valve and start pumping, if you're lazy like me and don't expel as much air as possible it takes about 100 strokes. You must put the Gel bag in before sealing!

The first roll I did I only treated for 5hrs (maximum on the timer) the next day I could clearly see the Gel sack was a delicate shade of pink!
Henceforth I have treated all rolls to 4 x 5hrs and the Gel sacks are still deep blue.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Very neat.
I presume the 20 hours heating is to expel any moisture in the filament before the air tight sealing.
For some reason some colours, particularly white and black, are much more prone to embrittlement. On the other hand silver can be left for months with no ill effects.

Years back, the wife bought something similar for airtight storage of clothing and bedding. The vacuum was provided by the domestic carpet-sucker. (Watch it doesn't overheat due to lack of airflow over the motor!!!)
It worked ok, and a duvet she put in one is still airtight about 14 years later.
What they don't tell you (obvious, really) the contents still weigh the same, and a big bag of clothing is flippin' heavy, and when it has all scrunched up, they don't stack, either!
As I have never used or needed the duvet, I decided to dispose of it, but the seal on the bag had welded itself shut! I presume the rag-collector van-man will use a knife on the bag, to get the darn thing out!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
