I had a look at the site, John - sorry, no idea. It could be a case of 'maybe yes, maybe no' but I wouldn't dare to have an opinion

As it required protective clothing, and a full-face hazchem mask, I'd venture that it was rather nasty stuff, really not suitable for home-brew fuel. It seems more like rocket propellant!
Pol - Phil Wood - is the person who should have a better answer, he used to BE a chemist!
p.s. Guano, which it is derived from, is bird poo.

This appears to have the real McCoy ( Should that be McKay ? ) Amyl Nitrate .Price noy TOO bad I suppose .If you want the real gear you have to pay I expect.
buypoppers.net/ Getting nearer to the supplies bit by bit now. Good luck to anyone making their own fuels. Take all the safety precautions and be safe. While on the subject be careful of the fumes of this stuff it increases blood pressure and there are rumours of deaths from it's use.(strokes etc ) and eye damage from the internal pressures.

Buy Poppers!
I don't think these purchasers are using the Amyl nitrate to make diesel fuel :woohoo: and if you did buy some It might arouse the interest the drugs squad. ;)

Whilst I think about it, anyone making their own diesel fuel - be careful of ether fumes whihc are heavier than air and there was at least one instance reported in the Aeromodeller back in the 50s or 60s of someone allowing fumes to accumulate without realising it, having a fag break and starting a fire in his workshop. Can't see it as a major possibility - I've mixed gallons of fuel over the years with nary a problem (but then, I never lit up whilst so doing) , but you know what they say - if something can happen, chances are that sooner or later it will happen.

Don't know about the barking dog part, but this was quite worrying.
(NO2/N2O4 is very toxic and may cause inflammation of the lungs. Very insidious gas, exposure may cause little pain or go unnoticed, but the resulting edema several days later may cause death.)

I don't think the drugs boys would be interested in these "Poppers" or they couldn't sell them in "Sex" shops

Poppers such as liquid gold contain isopropyl nitrate. They stopped using amy nitrate after some prosecutions under the medecines act so these are useless for our needs. As I have mentioned before there are enough cetane improvers available by mail order that are suitable for sports use. Most of the time you can get away without any if aren't trying to extract the last drop of power. Try searching for amsoil cetane booster which can be posted and is legal.

Thanks for that Doug, but I notice some of these sites seem to be willing to risk prosecution. still. They are still claiming AN is in their product..However thanks to your warning I won't be risking an order  Klippy tells me he is going to make his own Amyl Nitrite [badass] ( Nitrite not Nitrate )
