Radial acceleration is VxV/r 514 mph is 735 ft/sec. Difficult to judge exactly but lets say it was flying in a circle with a radius of 1000 ft. 735x735/1000 = 540ft/sec/sec g is 32 ft/sec/sec So unless I have the sums wrong the glider would be pulling 16g. This raises an interesting issue....

Here you can post a brief or descriptive introduction about yourself. It is not compulsory but some members like to know a little about the person they're talking to.

In here i will effectively write a new post every time I've completed something. I like to keep our members informed as to what I am up to. Most recently I have created an SPF record for ModelChat which helps (not stops) our emails going to junk. There are many things I can do to stop our emails...

Let's keep this thread clear of trivia, please. If you know of, are part of, or have organised a model show, somewhere, post it on here, please. Name, location (postcode for a satnav if you know it) times, dates, who will be there. etc.

For info, the plan was drawn by Walt Mooney, a very prolific designer of Peanut models. The model as drawn would be competitive in the USA as their rules are different to those in the UK. Squirrelnet quite rightly points out the scale differences that would make it a non-starter in UK competition.

Just read on a boats forum about a guy whose board tipped and the items thereon went all over the floor. As he said he should have picked up the knives first. In the event he didn't and while picking up other stuff a knife entered his foot sideways through the leather of his shoe. I have suggested...

Garry Pollard organised some very successful Forum Fly-In's a few years ago. I've been pondering whether to do the same and came up with the idea of using the new BMFA site at Buckminster. Manny has recently put a post on Facebook describing the flying area, but there's also camping and limited...

Let me start this with a question, when you want to cut some vegetables, do you:- 1/ go out into the garden, find a piece of flint, nap it, and then use one of the flakes to cut the vegetables. 2/ open the kitchen drawer, find a nice sharp knife and then use it to cut the vegetables. Number 2...

I still have my old " flints " Klip . Apart from the gear supplied with my two little foamies and choppers I am unlikely to afford much else apart from a DSM2/ DSMX Tx to go with my little Rx . I suspect the Harriers went early (many to the US as a source of spares!) as a 'trade in' to allow the two new and very expensive aircraft carriers but knowing full well the government would have to approve new (and V expensive) planes to fly from them. ;)
