I do tend to rush into things,im now thinking the piston is ok and have ordered a conrod. There is a hole in the piston than Im not sure which direction it should point in.There are 3 holes or slots in the liner, not sure which one lines up with the one in the piston.

A hole in the piston???
I hope you mean at the bottom, or a cut-away skirt for the valve porting! If the hole is in the top, it is deceased, unless you mean that there is a shallow recess milled into it. That should point to the exhaust port, I think.

A hole in the side of the piston - it might be a transfer port, then, and goes on the opposite side to the exhaust, so the fresh charge of fuel gets squirted into the combustion chamber, via the fat duct in the casing.

Took Mamselle to the field but she still does U turns on take off.The rudder is ineffective on the groung, Ive a mod to try.If that doesnt work maybe a steerable tailwheel. However the flight was excellant handed to a mate to photo and discovered I had left the battery in the charger.A collegue did take photos and will E mail them to me.
