Done a little bit more to the lower wing, all the cap strips now fitted to the top of the ribs I have marked out where I need to cut the ailerons out  hope I get this bit right, I have measured a few times and rechecked the plan so fingers crossed............... :pinch:

I have also started on the upper wing, only a small start, laid out the centre section sheeting, lower trailing edge and the lower cap strips.

Done a little bit more today, Cut out the ailerons :S

Just need to sand them and neaten them up a bit and then add the leading edge strip to them. The plan suggests using solartex as a hinge will give it a try!

Done some more to the upper wing to, ribs fitted upper main and rear spar fitted, dihedral brace epoxyed on and wing attachment blocks fitted.

Very neat work Dean - nicely executed but I'd have to warn against relying on the solartex hinges on a model this size. I'd suggest belt AND braces and fit proper hinges. The solartex will seal the gap but there is no way I'd rely on it for the hinge if it were my model.

On a model like this I'd use Dubro metal pin hinges or equivalent.

My Precision Aerobatics Ultimate had the aileron hingeds done from the same material the wings were covered in, it all came apart while flying, the two top ailerons came off togather which ripped the bottom one apart.
Managed to get it down, but PA would not accept any responcibility for it
SO i would never use a covering for hinges do like Grumps says.
Nice build Dean

Well my solartex hinges work perfectly on my Pup even with the decals covering part of them .Stiff to start with but they've loosened up given a few flights .SO THERE !! B)

Find my thread - covering with film - to see how to make strong hinges without cutting holes in the wood.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Upper left hand wing panel progressed ribs fitted leading and trailing edges fitted and dihedral braces fitted

and made a start on the upper right hand panel

Not sure whether I will start the fuselage or not, I haven't got an engine yet and no pennies to buy one so may wait until I have bought the engine before I start the fuselage.

It is a very enjoyable build with lots of learning going on,
Not sourced an engine yet but I am thinking .52 four stroke up to maybe a .70 four stroke
Need to sort it before I do to much to the fuselage
