This model comes with machine printed parts to cut out so had some fun doing this :) from top left clockwise we have :
Two end plates
11 ribs
The under fin
Wing supports

All carefully cut out and sanded

Argh stuck! Plan says at step 7 to "crack the left edge of tail plane, secure the left edge and top edge to plan. Glue crack"

Erm what does it mean by crack? Break it?

WHat they want you to do is half cut through the LE at the mid point. Break the LE, bend it to fit the plan, then fill joint with glue. Pin it down to the profile on the plan and away you go.

Right, after some very interesting discussions in chat ( You can all stop laughing now ya miserable lot!!! :woohoo: ) it was explained that I was to crack the B, or not lol- but I did anyway cos am a stickler for following instructions. So I cracked it, glued it and added the ribs - Tail now drying pinned to board. Also fin glued and pinned

Ribbet ribbet this frog is hopping off the board- get it? pah! :P

Ribbett ribbett hopping as usual so this must have been especially for me,mocking the afflicted. At some point during build a little frustration may creep in so you jump on part of the build to alleviate the problem.Designers know this is to happen so they make the jump useful by telling you to "Crack" a leading edge or something like that.As your such a calm methodic person you didnt reach the jump stage just the hop and in so doing instead of a crack you carefully cut and glued, well done for keeping cool

ROFLMAO- erm...............nope, I cut methodically the first time...........then I cracked another piece and used the first piece as the ribs haha. Thought I would try both ways, gotta try everything at least once :woohoo:

You wouldnt have thought me calm had you heard the swearing and laughing when I accidently "cracked" about a cm in on the tip of the port panel of the wing being too rough sanding the edge  but minor incident rectified with a bit of balsa cement and as it is going to get covered with a paper dihedral brace both under and above, it shouldn't make a difference.

centre of the wing, port panel and starboard panel all pinned and glued. Fiddly little suckers are those convex ribs ha! but they look so pretty in place,
After glue had dried I very very lightly sanded them at the joint just to make sure they were flush nice and smooth at each joint, cos am a stickler for detail and dont want the tissue paper looking bumpy at those bits lol!

All Parts of the wing put together and set up over night to set, the dihedral angle is 4cms/ 10° resting on two books that were exactly 4cm in width. The port wing did need a little extra glue this morning as it seemed to have slightly slipped below 4cm somehow. Will add the paper braces now and get on with the wing tips and covering woooooooooooot!!

Pins are most definately your friend on this build, being slightly more intricate than the cricket in that I have to secure it so whilst it is gluing the leading edge has that slight swept back look whilst the trailing edge stays straight (it was cut that way but the glue has other plans ha!) , If there is another way of describing this my apologies, best way I know how! :) It is now pinned firmly to Dan Brown and John Grisham!! :woohoo:
Think I will in future invest in some sturdy wood and cut it to 3cm, 4cm, 5cm height blocks, or even 2cm blocks so can add piece to piece to use as props underneath!
