Cowl needs some carving and shaping. Wing is going together and the humidifier (steamer) which we use as the air is so dry here. It is also great for bending spars! For years my wife called it "the humilator"

Underside of the wing and my model stand is finished. Took ages for the varnish to dry.

Thats a lot of all sorts weighing your sheeting down, can i suggest using slim bags of sand, or even magazines, the clamp area will be total, instead of in areas, just a suggestion, :)

i have 2 sides
no you dont,
yes i do,

plastic bag in a sock, loosely filled with sand, cheap, and clean (assuming the socks have been washed!)

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

We had about 2ft of snow last night. It's now raining. Spent all morning clearing snow off the car port as it was about to collapse. Had hoped to spend the day on the Spitfire.

We could tell you off for drifting off topic on your own thread, but all that snow means it's impossible for you to go out & you'll have to spend the whole day working on the Spit' & taking photographs.
I'll have to get Garry to come there & crack the whip. [badass]
Seriously though, I'm sure I've asked someone else this question, (who else is building a Spit'?) .... have you thought about cooling & what are your plans for the cowl allowing air flow over the motor?

Pol.

I just own the forum .... you guys make it great thanks.

I did get some time on the Spit this afternoon. Sorted out the flap layout and made a start on the RH wing. Thinking to cut a cooling hole on the underside of the cowl, similar to the Hurricane, maybe use some wire mesh to disguise it.
