Looking good Tony.

Just a thought, but it may be worthwhile considering thinner stringers, or even laminating them from several thin strips so they go around the curves better. That coupled with the thicker wood that you've already proposed should cure the problem.

Well after my visitor today :cheer: i thought i better do something.

sanded the nose block down to shape, filled a few holes and made some guns.

then i worked on the gunners position frame work, needs sorting a bit still.

Then i took a deep breath and cut a hole in the underside.

then i lined it and this is where i am at now.

That's looking just great Tony.

In response to your earlier comment about strength, I believe we all make our models far too strong. As this is a test machine, you'll be able to see where it breaks, if at all, and then add strength where it needs it for the 'production' machine.

In the Indoor world, we make our models as light as possible, we fly them and see where they break. On the next model we make that bit stronger and the rest of the model weaker. After several iterations, we end up with a model that's half the weight of the original and less likely to break anywhere on the machine. I'm not suggesting you go to those extremes, but you could do at least one iteration if you felt it appropriate.

You must have the patience of a saint to put all those fiddly bits like windscreen wipers on! :)

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

just slightly smaller than Garry's lanc.
if i had done it to the same scale i would be dealing with a 13' wingspan. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

10' is big enough. :cheer:

not done much today to this one.
started on the cockpit area.
fitted some sheet for the dash board.
tidied up the sides and made up two seat backs, well the tops of them cos the rest wont be there.

will look at the dash and the few bits that you will be able to see at some time soon.

while waiting for lanc bits to dry i made up some canopy frames.

took 2 goes and i am still not fully satisfied, but i think with some sanding and when painted they will look ok.

then i cut out the top hatch and made the sun roof.

where we are this evening.

if i get a chance tomorrow i will make up the other two front screen frames.
