Sorting things out.... Cessna

Hi All,

In request of our dear friend Mr Pol Here are the pictures of the Cessna, please excuse the mess... it is in the workshop and I really couldn't be bothered to clean it The chippie is to the right... upside down aha, putting a new engine in

Its wingspan is 55" (the wings are on the rack to the right, didn't bother to put them on)










I have such a buzz for next year right now! So i am going to hopefully buy everything I need on the 9th December to get myself ready for a full on 'hardcore' flying year! aha

Yes it is. I bought it 2 years ago with the intention of using it as my trainer but an IMAC flyer tried it out and said no way aha. Its a little aerobatic to say the least! Should be good to have it up and running!
Regarding the transmitter chat from last night, I got a PM from my chairman and he said wait until the swap meet to see if I can pick something up from there.

Oh Thomas what are you like, looking forward to the photos.

That should make a perfect trainer providing the wings don't have zero dihedral .... even then it should still be a good aerobatic trainer ..... let's see the wings then.

It's a nice looking size tom.
be ideal for a bit of gentle pottering about.

Can't see anything wrong with this model Tom, didn't you say that a friend or club mate said it would be a handful? .... what makes him think that?
There doesn't appear to be a lot of dihedral, but for anyone who's even done a bit of flying, it should be perfectly manageable.

Hi Pol,

He flew it and tried a few aerobatics with it... he gave it 1/4 right aileron (if i remember right) and 1/4 right rudder... the thing snap rolled with no trouble what so ever caught him off guard cause I think he was expecting it to take a little more than that... I will go gently with it because I have seen a guy on YouTube fly his and the wing snap off....

It's hard to say why that happened Tom, the model was flying fine until it broke.
It wouldn't be hard to fit a carbon spar .... or does it already have one?

It already has one that i put through the center of the wings

Do a bit of googling or youtube -ing & see if you can find any other similar complaints, he may have just had a damaged spar ..... You could always tissue & Poly C the wings for extra strength if you're that concerned.
