Trying to build another Buck this time to the plans I have for the 50% one, this will be 1/3 scale
But not with the stainless steel tube construction, as I priced it up and gulped, things may change as I go along as I am still interested in it
The plans follow the original full size construction I am led to believe
So a dive under the workbench to see what materials are to hand
Found some 3mm ply so I made a start

What is the board made from? Fibre board ? Good stuff if it is . Good luck with the build.

Anything will fly given enough power

Just plaster board OT but did not make a neat edge on it :S
Found some 6mm hard balsa sheet and stripped it into 6mm square for the fuse sides, built the sides over the plan
Then assembled the fuselage free hand as there is no plan view on the plans, in fact im finding a lot of things missing from the plans :( just have to make it up as I go

Not doing much modelling as I still don't feel well

Got the basic fuselage structure done, just got think of a way to tie it to the fire wall, think I might get some S steel tube and create a structure within the wood frame work, I will then tie the fire wall, lower wing centre section and the struts for the top wing and the undercarriage all together  i think

Went into the hanger tonight to do some modelling :) that's the first time since I built it :( , cut some ribs out of ply and balsa

I think there's lots of ribs clamped between the outers, certainly that's the way I do it.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Had to cut some 6mm x 8mm spruce spars from some bigger material, so I made a saw bench to do it

Also had to rebate them to take 3mm ply

Surprising the amount of sawdust from that small job

Just an observation but whilst spruce spars with a 3 mm ply web is traditional it does seem a bit at odds to the 1/4" sq balsa used in the construction of the fuselage.

The two spars made up for the first wing panel

A complex arraignment for the hinges and horns of the ailerons
Some ribs and carbon parts cut

And a dry assembly

A classic "Frise" aileron. Provides a degree of "aerodynamic" differential and reduces the control loads as well..

Got a lot of the first wing panel built

Nice to be able to lay the whole wing plan on the bench

In fact I can get all 4 panels on there with room for more

:) :) :)
