Absolutely right Klippy. I also put in 10 degrees of dihedral to soften it up a bit. I am going to use it as a sport plane not for competitions.

Anyway the maiden went well. I had someone else maiden it so that they would be very particular in the preflight inspection. All went off without a hitch. So much so that he did the normal trim out in 2 minutes, landed we did an inspection, took off did an outside knife edge horizontal circle then inside horizontal knife edge circle 10 foot off the ground!! To say I was pleased was an understatement. I did the second flight and went through the current F3a Intermediate schedule. A little more trimming is required but very close. Inverted requires zero stick input so we got the C of G spot on. Doesn't pull either way in a power off dive.

Just needs guns and camouflage to finish it off!!

Sorry, meant 10 degrees of dihedral on the main wings! The very original design had zero dihedral on the main wings.

Congratulations on the maiden. I am sure it looks the business in the air.

I could be wrong but I would have thought any anhedral on the tail plane to cure Dutch roll would be swamped by the effect of such a generous wing dihedral, but as a sport flyer I doubt any Dutch roll would be a problem anyway.

I have to say that your description of 'sport' flying (the current F3a Intermediate schedule) is a bit more aggressive than mine!

It flies as good as it looks Ralph by the sound of it, those knife edge circles with a new model and only its second flight takes some guts and a very very good plane, well done sir
