Horus X12S

Since there was no flying today I decided to have another go at my Horus. My foray in OpenTX actually helped because working at the TX programming on a computer screen somehow bent my mind as to what could be done. What I should have done long ago was sit down and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
Unusually I had almost no interruptions. (when SWMBO needs me it's RIGHT NOW!)
Anyway I now have the Speed Air and the Nemo programmed in, all functions (throttle inhibit, triple rates, trim grab etc) are now announced on speaker when selected, with delays where applicable. I've put a fancy 3 axis gyro RX in the Speed Air which will give me, Stabilisation, Auto level, Hover and Knife edge and because of the speech I don't have to look at the switches!
Bragging, hell yes!

The FrSky X6R but I've also got an X8R. I always buy 2 of everything! It can take months to get re-supplied here!

X series rx are NOT gyro! S series are!
See my comments on another thread re trying to get an S6R to bind to an X9D tx, and failing.
I've now purchased an X9D plus tx, and the S6 bound to that straight away.
BUT
I need to re-order the standard channel outputs on the tx, because they are coming out of the wrong sockets on the rx, which will give some VERY strange behaviour when the gyro is selected on!
(ie - elevator emerges on the socket marked throttle, on the rx!)

Thanks Eric, spot the deliberate mistake, it's an S6R and an S8R, it's the S6R tha's in the Speed Air, my bad.

The outputs on the S series RX's are fixed 1 - 4 = AETR (Aileron,Elevator,Throttle,Rudder) coming from Futaba that's the norm for me so I didn't have a problem.

That's not the problem!
With the X9D plus, and S6R, I get these responses -
Marked rx socket - stick response - gyro reaction
ail - throt - nothing
ele - ail - - pitch
thr - ele - - nothing
rud - rud - yaw
ail2 - nothing - roll
ele2 - nothing - pitch

It looks as though I will have to get the thingy tool plugged in again, and see if I can re-arrange the rx responses from there, as altering the tx stick functions does nothing!

Hmm, it looks as though you've got TAER on your RX instead of AETR that we're used to. I used my X8R today but without any Stabilisation functions. My S6R appears to be faulty, the outputs are correct but everything is correct except Airleron which only moves to one side of the stick and not the other! My other problem is that the STK widget works perfectly and downloads the firmware to both SxRs. Viewed from the top with the USB pointing away from you the dip switch must be left and the connector cable to the left set of 3 pins, the negative is in the centre. When doing the configuration the dip switch must be to the right and the connector cable to the right set of 3 pins, the negative is in the centre. When using the PC Config program I can read from the RX but not write to it so I've given up for now!

I was trying to edit the wrong page! At the field today, Malcolm rolled up, (he's got a 9 plus and S6r sorted) - so after some headbanging, we found that his 9+ is different to mine! and we brainstormed it out - eventually! He's got programmes I haven't and vice versa, built in!
I was trying to edit the page where there is every possible combination of the four letters AETR, the line above the mode 1,2,3,4, options, and getting nowhere. (I tried that, too!)
Anyway, we've got it working, sort of, but I can't control the sensitivity, or turn the gyro off, so I need to plug the dongle in again, and try resetting the rx.
That can wait until tomorrow, when I'm more awake, though!
