Hello gents and Ladies.
I have just had a bang on the door and the kind postman has dropped off a model aircraft for me to build.
The box was well packed and arrived with no damage.


On opening the box we find a nicely packaged and very bright collection of bits.


I will be upsetting the nitro knights by doing an electric conversion on this one.

had a trial fit today and all the bits go together well, so far.
not doing much to it until i have the motor and battery fitting sorted, then it won't take long to glue together.

What is the wing section Tony?

semi symmetrical, 60" wingspan.
looks reasonably well put together.

will cost more to fit out than the airframe cost.

well i took all the bits out, looked at them and put them all away again.

Fuselage, i need to sort out a battery tray for this, it will be a take the wing off to fit the battery job, by the looks of it.


Two wing halves, these are joined with a wood brace and glued together, the ailerons need fixing on as well.


Bags of bits and pieces.

So i glued the wing together and had an offer up.


not a perfect fit, but the glue has taken up any gaps between the wings and it looks to fit in the fuselage quite well.

Next job is to glue the ailerons on and then look at the motor mount and battery tray before i glue on the tail.

ailerons are on and working.

motor mount is made (not the greatest job)
i used the i/c mount and made up a ply former that was slid onto the i/c mount and then glued in place.
motor fits ok, just got this big hole in the top and bottom of the nose are where the i/c engine was supposed to stick out, might have to make up a couple of covers to fill the gaps.

the esc sits in the fuselage ok, needs a tray for it and then a battery tray.
be able to get the tail fitted tomorrow i hope.

Battery tray is in, i can just squeeze a 4s lipo in there.
here is where i need to make a cover.


wheels are all on, aileron servo is in and working.
tail fin is gluing at the moment.


complaints:- the canopy is very flimsy.
The method of fitting the clevis to the control horn is very fiddly, they use a separate pin that has to be fed through both.
i broke one control rod clip, they are very fragile.
thats it so far.

well it is almost finished, just the throws and cog to sort.
a 4s lipo right up the front does bring the front wheel down, so it cant be far out.
