A bit surprised at that Pol but the best people can forget to check things properly Glad you weren't hurt too badly though. One thing if you don't wish to Loctite the grub screws is drill a couple of detents into the stem .This will give a bit of a taper to lock the screw nose into and act as a taper lock. Same effect as wheel nuts on cars Only shallow detents though

Flew mine today for first time. Flies really nicely if you get the CG bang on which I only did with the 6S5000 pack right up the front with a 3S1300 beside it for the sound system. Look forward to seeing yours fly Pol - Cheers Dom

Well would you believe it, I've finally gotten around to building models again and finishing this one is first on the list.
There were a few minor problems with it when I bought it, this aileron was one of them. The hinges on these are just a thin strip of foam along the full length, it had split part of the way.
It's an easy job to cut along the full length and fit new hinges, but I've got a feeling that this could be a common problem for all of these models.
If you look at this picture you'll see that there's a slight curve at the tip of the aileron. It's obvious that you can't hinge along the full length of a curve, so even though it's been working in practice on all of these models, it must be putting the foam hinge under strain ..... as well as making hard work for the servo!!!


I'll put 3 hinges just along the straight portion of the aileron and the job should be a good one .... I'll cut the other aileron off and change that one as well.
It's been that long since I worked on this model that I've forgotten if I tightened everything up properly. I'll have to take the front off and check that I've tightened the motor in place before I have a repeat of my arm slashing incident.
I've still got to glue the tail & rudder in place and try to pack the radio gear in some form of order, it's a mass of wiring for such a small model.
Hopefully I'll be visiting Garry soon so I'll maiden this when I get there...... will report back then.
