Good question! They were retracting fine on the ground test and are retracted now with the doors flush to the wing. Must admit in that pic they look like they are half way. :side:

Can I suggest you drill a small hole though each bay into the wing area, and perhaps another from the fuselage into the wing? It's just a thought, I'd like to know if that fixes it.

Not looking so good this afternoon !

Hit the flaps and she spun in! Landed 20m up a tree in the middle of the jungle. Did find another plane during the rescue.

Well, I hit the flaps and she went into a death spin. I suspect one of the flaps might have hung up. All works ok now further investigation required.
Locals were asking me what
" oh b......ks" means!

Did you have the flaps on an up/down or three position switch, or a slider/knob so you could feed them in slowly
At a guess, you were flying the Hurri fairly slowly, stuck in a bootful of flap, got a major pitch up, and stalled!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Flaps are on a 3 position switch, off , 5 deg and 30 deg with a 3 sec delay on full deployment. About 10 revolutions of the death spin, I had the speed and height to recover, but I was not getting any response. Could even be the radio. All checks out ok now. One of the flap servos is buzzing a lot so I'll check the current draw.

Repairs are underway. Decided to use a BEC instead of the nicad. Had to add 120g of lead in its place.

Not really, the servo tray is already moved forward, not much else to move. I also used 5mm stringers when the plan called for unobtainable 4.5 mm. That is probably why the rear end is a bit porky.
