Tony been thinking about this and your desert camouflage scheme, have you thought about knocking up a "Vokes" filter with a battery tray inside?? It will get you some weight up front for your CoG.
Just a thought mate, tell me to shut me trap if you want, Cantwell normally does :woohoo:

Canopy is coming along nicely, done the wings yet [badass]

Now that I am older it seemed nice I have more patience.

it's having a vokes filter gents and it is a good idea to make it part of the battery tray.

i hope to make the two huge cannons that fit under the wing for it, they will have to be knock off though. ( not stolen, just able to fall off if it noses over)

yes i know me screw heads are too big, not got my head round pva rivets and screws yet. might have a play with a few rivets on the canopy later.

a large filter for use in dusty and sandy conditions to keep the engine clean.

The canapy looks really good Tony, hadn't thought of using clothes pegs as grips, nicking that idea- thank you

Wooden clothes pegs make handy little clamps for soldering little fiddly things, too, they don't take the heat away, and you don't burn your fingers trying to hold the darn thing while the solder flows and cools!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

That Hurricane is a totally unrestored original example presented to the prime minister of SA after the war, taken from squadron service, and put into the museum, nice, innit?

And Vokes still exist - sort of.
Founded by C G Vokes in 1921 they started filter production in 1927 but had a chequered history post war being taken over and renamed many times. Finally the current owner in 2010 renamed the filter business Vokes Air.

i just cant get on these days, nothing but interruptions from family (spent all day on my sons car yet again)
did manage to get an hour or two late afternoon.
