It appear that micro ESC is not rated for 10A. It does work but will only run one EDF to about 1/3 throttle and then goes to a fixed throttle regardless of the stick position. The battery has to be disconnected to get it to stop!
A  search showed a couple of web site selling that unit as 10A but I then found a third which rates it at just 1.8A. Given the EDF takes just over 3A at full power a rating of 1.8A would seem to be about right.
I did find another 1s ESC with a rather different layout that is rated a 4A and it has wires already attached! I have ordered 2 to allow for 1 ESC per EDF.
It is likely to be mid October before they get here.
Disappointed I went flying - see "been flying"

Can't help with that - all my 'spare' esc's are brushless.

It seems that disinformation has become the norm, Caveat Emptor. I think all of these Chinese sites do it.

Fortunately I didn't pay much for them just 78p each but I had to buy 10 of them to get post free.
As they seem to actually work as brushed speed controllers I shall have to think how to use them.

Radio-controlled model railway? Modern OO loco's draw about 500mah. Reversing could be a bit tricky, though!

As I am waiting for the 4A ESCs I fitted the 2g elevator servo in the tail fin.

Running the servo wire into the fuselage and then down through the formers was a bit tricky.
2g in the fin on what was a 12g fuselage certain makes it feel tail heavy.
The next job is to add an elevator horn, a link and test it all works properly.
Nothing more possible until those ESCs arrive.

As I have 10 of these tiny 1.7A brushed ESCs

Is there any reason why more than one could be wired in parallel to control a single 4A motor?
Brushed ESCs do still provide a pulsed output so there is always a chance that between individual pulses the full motor load could fall on one ESC.
As I have nothing (well not much!) to loose I might try connecting some up to see what happens.

You might need a 'blocking' diode in each positive output lead, to prevent the pulse from one output back-loading the output transistor of the other, and killing it.
And you could end up with - say - half throttle on the tx, but the esc's get out of step by 180' so the motor sees 100% power! You could get some interesting responses!

Your are probably right!
I had intended to use five ESCs in parallel to ease the load on any individual but I do accept the motor might see more pulses than the position of the throttle stick would suggest.

I think it might rather depend on the trigger point of each ESC in respect of the throttle input, if they differ too much on throttle opening there will be a slight 'scatter' . Unlikely to make any difference except at full load.

As the 4A brushed ESCs arrived this morning hopefully I don't need to try multiple ESC in parallel!
The bizarre bit is the new 4A ESC works OK on a servo tester provided it has a direct 1S supply but drive it through a radio (it bound OK) also with a direct 1S supply and the motor just cycles on & off with the throttle fully closed. Open the throttle at all and it simply stops - completely.
Surprisingly with the same set up add a 5g servo to any channel & it works fine despite the odd behavior of the EDF.
I would blame the ESC as faulty except it works with a servo tester.
For some reason the Rx seems much more sensitive to what the ESC is doing despite having a direct 1s supply and its from a big 5000mAh LiPo cell!
I shall have to think some more!

Try reversing the rx to esc connection. It might be thinking that throttle stick closed is wide open.
Or it could be that the esc needs more volts - 1S is only 3.5v. What volts is your servo tester running on?
Have you 'taught' the esc where min stick and max stick are?

It appears the servo tester will work on 1s but only if it is fed directly by the LiPo and not just by the BEC in the ESC.
The RX is a bit different whilst it is quite happy operating servos but the pulse start of the EDF seems to up set it even if the Rx has its own 1s power as well.
My guess is the Rx is very close to its lower voltage limit so anything that drops the voltage upsets it.

I do have a brushed 10A 2s ESC but it is a two way so centre off wot reverse.
This works both EDFs fine provided the 2s LiPo has sufficient capacity to maintain the volts despite the 10+ amps total the EDFs draw on 2s!
 A short video
It has to be short video as the EDFs, the  ESC and the wiring over heat very quickly!

Given that the EDFs are intended for 1S LiPo and the resulting thrust is likely to be pretty marginal I wonder if speed control is really necessary.
Given that the RX seems to work servos OK on 1S maybe a servo working a simple on/off switch or even the servo working a 3 position series/parallel/off switch to give two power levels.
On reflection it would be much simpler for the mid position to just add a suitable resistance to reduce the power.
Still thinking on this.
In the mean time I have ordered a 1 way (not centre off) brushed ESC that has two individual 10A outputs. On offer but it has to come from China!
Maybe that will work but I still have my doubts.

Just a bit more progress.
The ailerons connected up to the Rx and all driven by a 1S to satisfy myself it actually works.
www.youtube.com/shorts/G_6lsYL4AK4
I have since coupled up and added the elevator servo and that works no problem.
Now just need the double 10A ESC brushed ESC. If, and it is a big if, that works on 1S I will have everything to complete the Meteor..
It looks like it should come out close to 120g ready to go.
