'What the hell' is always the right answer...

I've been away from my aircraft factory for a while now, but there has been some progress, and some regress, or should that be, distress, too...
I got the Pup's fuselage repaired and, before the long grass was cut, I got her back in the air. After another lengthy trimming session I teased a promising flat circle out of her. Finally, the prospect of a realistic flight seemed within reach. I stopped while I was ahead. Regrettably, that hard-won victory was soon ripped away from me in a case of art repeating life. My friend couldn't resist picking her up and, not realizing just how delicate these planes are, smashed the wings...!
So back to the building board for the Pup... I can't tell you how gutted I am. Oh well, a chance to remake the wings and improve their warp-prone rigidity.
The motivation behind the building of this Pup was always to honour Squadron Commander Edwin Dunning (who flew N6453 and became the first person to land a plane on the deck of a moving ship) and to commemorate his historic achievement. So, yesterday, as I sat inside stormbound, I grabbed a moment to put together a short tribute video to the man and the building of his machine. Here's the link:
I hope you enjoy it and look forward to seeing the Pup back up in the air where it belongs and looks so beautiful.
Now on with the Vega...
Best

I'd normally say this by PM but I think everyone should get the message this time.

I've removed the name and replaced it with "Someone" Tony. I think it's best if we don't get personal or drag up the past eh?THE BLACKBIRD wrote: Maybe someone's had a word with him, would not surprise me,

My apologies, I made an improved version and Youtube doesn't allow the same address. Here's the new link.
The flying sequences were taken from my trimming sessions. At the end of one session, previously highlighted on this forum, when I felt I was finally getting somewhere, the motor snapped and, despite using a blast tune, the fuselage was wrecked. Having rebuilt 6453 and started the trimming from afresh, I eventually coaxed a short but promising flight from her - the last one shown in the video. However, before I had a chance to wind her up and, with luck, get a reasonable flight, my friend smashed the wings...! So back to the hangar for repairs. With luck, I'll have her back on the field for the long grass next spring.
