The cutter is ground to 55o. I have finish cut the material to the correct outside diameter of the thread, the undercuts are smaller than the smallest diameter of the thread, this is so I can release the thread feed in fresh air and then wind the cutter back. I have also given myself plenty of room from the chuck, since this machine has a minimum speed of 160rpm.
Drilling the collars 5mm, this is the nominal thickness of the new conrod, after drilling and reaming the conrod hole I will elongate the aperture in the collar, much the same as they do on the Mills.
This is what 49 years of storage does.

The corrosion is of no consequence since it doesn't extend all the way to the crown. It's just 'of interest'one tenor wrote: Thought it might be Oooooooer. Should still work ok cause the fit is tight any way . Shouldn't it ?
There might be a bit of a hold up I'm not feeling too well just lately, I have an infection, and I'm deep into my 2017 Tax!

There's been a bit of a hold up, Mary decided she wanted to move one of my work areas, when I was putting a new light up, part of the ceiling came down! Owner built in 1970 (not me). All fixed now, the good news is that when moving the tables and stuff. the errant Needle valve assembly came to light!
Monthly shopping tomorrow so nothing happens until Friday.
