The original FB16 was undoubtedly on the right lines but its Vickers sponsored Hart radial was a resounding failure so much so that I can find absolutely nothing about it!
The FB16 worked well enough when re-engined with a Hispano-Suiza V8 but shape of this engine rather spoiled its looks.
Developing a high powered light weight air cooled radial engine proved rather more difficult than perhaps it first appeared.

the FB 16 was mcuddens personal aircraft, but he was forbidden to take it back to France when he went back as all aircraft in the squadron had to be the same model to aid in servicing and as we know he died on his flight back to his squadron. maybe if he had been flying his FB16 he might have made it back alive.....

As I fly from grass a rugged U/C is always a plus point - which is where the Peashooter loses out without hefty bracing.
P6Es and Jungmeisters are two of my favourites, I have a Pica Jungie waiting in the wings and I came oh so close to buying a GP P6E at a show last year but I hesitated too long
. The problem with bipes is the hassle rigging them at the field, come up with a quick release system and you would expand your market enormously.
So a 1.20 FS size P6E with quick release rigging?
