I've been playing with my CAD programme and Craft Robo (now sold as Silhouette Cameo) cutter/plotter to make a framed windscreen for my Veron Tiger Moth. First job was to trace the pattern from the plan (I used the VMC Tiger Moth for this as it's about the same size as the Veron Model). I then...

I'm working on a paper on the above subject that I'll present at the BMFA Free Flight Forum in November, but as there are several Forum members thinking of designing/building models for scale competition, I felt it worth presenting the bare bones here. So lets start with.... Step 1: Read the Rules...

I have just watched a video of Monz's Robber powered Shackleton flying at the Oxford MFC scale fest. Although it is only about 40 seconds the flight is really good to watch, very stable and smooth. Fantastic job Monz well done.

Chris - the exceptions are in the Rules and Judges guides (I've posted links to those in other threads). I believe the only exceptions are, as you rightly say, the static prop and the pilot, who, if fitted, is not judged in static. Good thinking Gregj, getting it to fly in front of the judges can...

Not wishing to interrupt Sceptics Super Cub build thread I was intrigued by the requirements for indoor RC. Andy gives the maximum weight as 200g and a maximum wing loading of 15 g/ sq dm. So how close to these figures does my lightest scale plane get? 181.4g and 13.4 g / sq dm and its an EDF.... [attachment] ...
