vickers gunbus was created by Ex-Member
starting to decide on the next big project for after the shackleton.

there were a few in the offing but i have started to come down and favor the vickers gunbus.

yes i know the shackleton will take till the end of this year, but i can start to collect the bits i need and begin sketching out the rough plans.

not decided on scale yet. :P

Very nice - but there is a hell of a lot rigging and quite a bit of it would have to functional, particularly if you keep a scale wing section! ;)

i doubt i would keep a scale airfoil, something that gives a more gentle flight characteristic would be preferred.
not going to build a scale master piece, just something that looks right from a distance. :)

delete the comment re "most of the rigging will need to need to be functional" and replace it with ALL the rigging, also all the elevator and rudder controls will need to be functional as you dont have a fus to run them in and you cant go in a straight line as there is a big whirly bit of wood in the way, think carefully where you mount the engine as every pound of engine mounted behind the balance point will require 4 on the nose, you will need a lot more power than a standard model of its size and weight whatever size you go for, all that rigging is a huge drag, and it wont have a glide of anything better than about 45 degs down when/if the motor quits, but i cant fault your choice of aircraft,

cjp

If you're selling plan and parts, you might have more success doing it through a magazine rather than as a freelance. Might be worth contacting a few of the mags before you commit yourself to find out if they would be interested in such a machine.

Don't want to see you bitten financially on this Tony........

well i have months to sort things out on this one.
i will have to see how the shackleton design goes first, then take it form there i think.
