Please go easy with me this is my first post.
I wondered if any members of the forum would be interested in an Aero Club Members Database?
I initially wrote the database to 'look after' the club members details of my club and the database has functioned without any problems for the last 3 years.
The database is written using Microsoft Access 2010 and requires both Office Excel and Outlook to function correctly. The database is structured in such a way that all data may be accessed from a single form, full backup utilities together with a full reporting system and an integrated textual help system are also available.
PM me if you would like to try out the database, it is fully configurable for club name and logo, the database is free to use without license.
Regards,
Syd.

This database records and saves all the model club members details in one location, this would include address details for that member, whether junior or senior member, BMFA proficiency details, model noise recordings, club achievements, club subscriptions, the list goes on. Printed reports are also available together with the ability to e-mail details direct from the database.
I did try to attach a PDF document to the post explaining what the database is capable of but this did not appear to materialize.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Syd

Is this something that other clubs can use without infringing any licence issues ? If so it could be a good thing to put before your committee for consideration. They may have their own method, but could certainly consider it

I don't have these on my pc! I do have open office, which is more or less compatible with MS office.
It's a long story, but I refused to pay a second time for something that was already installed on my new pc, so it was blocked by ms. The pc has since been replaced, but I still won't have ms office.

I will try and answer your queries as simple as possible.
The database was written to correlate the details of an Aero Club membership. When there are 80+ members in the aero club it would be a daunting task for the membership secretary to maintain all the relevant members data on hard copy, with this database all the members data is stored in one place on the database, the members data may be retrieved instantly and if required printed reports are available.
Garry,
Yes, you may use this database without infringing any licencing laws, I wrote this database myself and it is free to use without licence, you will of course require a registered copy of Microsoft Office 2010/2013 to run the database.
Alan,
The database is encrypted and a password is required to open the database. Because the data held in a club database is personal information it may only be used within the club and may not be distributed publicly otherwise this may contravene the 'Data Protection Act 1998'. I originally wrote this database for my club membership secretary to use and it has proved invaluable since its' inception. Also available in the database are numerous reports available for hard copies.
Eric,
This database may work with the free version of Sun Java Open Office but I have not tried this.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Syd.
