my son JJ lives with me ,he is 29 and has never worked.I strive to help him get going in life but he is usually deeply into some war game or other and often dont communicate for days.I love him to bits but he often complains of this ailment or that.He cares for himself boxes works out goes to the gym but hasnt found a direction. The last week or so we have been going to the hospital for some ailment or other and ive been leaving him there for tests coming home 4.30 in the morning and starting woerk at 8.30.He called today asking me to go to the hospital to have a chat with the doctor.I finished up at work worried silly.I have no close friend i can chat with so I coped on my own. When I met the doctor she told me what they believe is his problem It cannot be confirmed until Wednesday and I have to take jj back to hospital Boxing dayHer diagnosis is Leukimea .Her prognosis is he is very healthy and should survive the treatment hopefully .Guys please pray for JJ he is still my baby

I feel deeply for you mate .My son Anthony has MS and can barely walk at all If he shops with my wife he has to use the store .electric scooter thing She has a huge hernia after her kidney transplant which leaves her out of breath. She can't walk far or up the hill to the main road . 50 yards/.The MS is progressive and will kill him eventually. I trust JJ accepts the treatment O.K. and I will certainly pray for him. I don't know how you feel about Xmas but I hope you manage to enjoy it to some extent at least God bless you both

to see what he went through yesterday was heart breaking and he looked so young lost and vulnerable and so out of his comfort zone

Having seen my wife, and two friends, go through chemo, I can deeply sympathize with you and JJ.
Chemo is a deeply exhausting procedure, so give him lots of allowance for not doing very much, for a long time after the treatment ends. He, and you, will find that the slightest effort takes up all of whatever little energy he has, and he will want - and need - to spend a lot of time either resting, or sleeping, as his body recovers from the treatment.
Think of his energy reserve as a discharged battery - he will want to DO things, but his body simply will not go. If you like - the spark is there, but no fuel is getting to the cylinders. After a rest, there will be a little surge, but as soon as he starts, that little bit will fade away.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
