Just at the moment I am stuck on both current projects or rather I don't want to proceed at risk until the bits I want have arrived.
1. The Albatross is waiting for some silicone insulated 22 AWG wire.
2. The Seamew is waiting for some undercarriage springs to create a working test undercarriage leg.
So I been staring at the Seamew's four blade prop.......
On another forum somebody is planning to make a
Antonov AN 2
made entirely from 6 mm foam board with of course the obligatory carbon strip spars for stiffness.
Furthermore one of the helpful suggestions was "don't bother to make it light as it has plenty of wing area so you can add lead at the front for balance and it has flaps as well".
Oh! dear.
Now the 10" Seamew four blade is quite a close scale shape to an AN 2's prop (actually better than for the Seamew!) and it would give it a 55" span.
A full size AN 2 stalls at just 30 mph so for anything like a 'scale' speed it would have to be built light rather than heavy!
