Me. was created by Flytilbroke
I have had and still have, a lack of enthusiasm for doing much. For any forum newbies this started when my wife got MND and of which she died some time ago. Recently I have been clearing out my garage/workshop/junk store and have raised funds and bought a LAWNMOWER :woohoo:

Said Lawnmower I acquired to sort out the flying strip in Glen Nevis which I used to maintain when I was a member of the local MFC. As this club no longer exists there will be four of us with permission to fly on days agreed with the Landowner. That will keep a pal active walking behind it

Meanwhile we will be working on a yacht he acquired and which is on a mooring. It needs a lot of TLC, I also bought an 15ft ex-sailboat which has seen better days. Hmm that also needs a lot of TLC, but will be used with an outboard engine just for local fishing and as a tender to pal's yacht.

As if that wasn't enough I helped clear out someones Garage of a lot of Model Airplanes, all old timer style plus bits of newer style ones, lots of the usual small useful stock too.

Last year, on the way home to Fort William from the August Nationals with my caravan it shed an wheel hub not far from Barkston,, destroyed :S . Now I have a newer mobile Palace and will be back on the seasonal circuit of Fly-ins and club visits. Hmm, when will I get time to sort those models? as well as some from before which also need TLC. Hey ho, nearly a book this.. Bye for now.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

That's an interesting collection.
Also given that it represents a lot of work rather sad too.

I was recently in a similar position. One of our club members had just begun r/c flying, and was thoroughly taken by it. Then he found he had incurable cancer, and passed away at the back end of last year.
Unknown to us, he had squirrelled away a LOT of models, from little electrics, through regular i/c, to BIG i/c, and even three turbine airframes.
The executor delegated with the task of sorting out his affairs (no wife or offspring) had no idea of what the models were, and just heaped them all together as a job-lot, as he had left instructions that the club was to benefit from them, and wanted them out of his property, so it could be cleared and placed on the market.
So - we had a huge pile of built models, some flown, some not, part-built, unstarted kits, boxes of bits, engines, wheels, and nothing to indicate what bits went with which frames, no plans, instructions - nothing!
He had a lot of other assets too - some of which we knew about, but that's an irrelevance here.
So - a lot of head-scratching as we tried to pair fuselages with wings, and boxes of bits with part-builts!
The club member who's garage was taken over by the heap has now got his car space back.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
