The J3 is nice but not necesarily a trainer.The funfly will fly very slow is extremely forgiving and takes a pounding which trainers need to do.You will need Simon to fly it and trim it and set the throws so there ok for you as a starter.

They are very similar,I bought the Easy cub from Sangoma and I will convert to a Fun Cub.Get the Funcub but its cheaper elsewhere and we can work out the power train for you.Wait until after the weekend ,so we get one at the cheapest price.

Very nice - well done.

You still need 4 servos, 2x450mm servo lead extensions, motor, ESC, a battery(s?), a charger, some paint(?).

I am sure between us we can help you get the right bits cheap(er) but even so I hope you like beans :huh:

You might be eating them for quite a while! :ohmy:

And Simon the funcub has an additional thing for floating on water, just a hint possibly for the trainer you are making hehee- that stream looked a bit deep!! :whistle: you know the one you waded over like tarzan to get back the plane that I accidentally dropped in the field of corn? :whistle:
