I did put - wing skins, etc, - so that's just a little hint that the wing will be skinned - with balsa sheet, before covering! [badass]

I need to sand Dara's nose down, before I fit the motor, so it doesn't get full of dust -
BUT -
I need to put the motor in before I can fit the triangular fillets, so I can sand it to shape - - - :S

It flies - after a few fraught moments while I got the trims sorted, in a rather blustery wind, it proved to be one of those models that puts a silly smile onto your face! :woohoo:

As a teenager on very limited funds, I build a Radio Queen Fus on a board that was too short. I built the front end first, then when dry, moved it along and built the back. The fus and empennage are still extant some 50 odd years later, but the ex killed the wings......

Eirc, you prob know the problems the Elmira has, it just dont turn, it even struggled with the bigger rudder i made for it, it needs ailerons, but, it does look superb in the air, got anywhere to get that HUGE cockpit from?

i have 2 sides
no you dont,
yes i do,

Thanks, Alan, I was aware of that, and said, in the chat-room, I think, that I was intending to fit up-only ailerons, using a clever three-way external mixer I've had for years, made by Robbe.
It has one input (ie rudder), but three outputs, the central one being for the rudder servo, and the two outers for the ailerons, BUT they only deflect up, not down, thus putting the drag on the same side as the down-going wing. (ie 100% differential!)
I've also got electric spoilers I was thinking of fitting, too.
Yes, I have a canopy!

Were/are they good 'floaty' models, or do they glide like a concrete parachute?

After procrastinating for long enough - I've made a start on the Elmira.
Naturally, as soon as my back was turned, Missy was in the box! (Genuine rather tatty KK box I was given, years ago, with a few odd bits in it).

Fuz sides, formers, and the first two stringers cut and joined.
Waiting for the pva to dry, now!
