You just have to learn how to crash very gently! :P

The Pilots survival equation: -

Number of Take offs = number of landings. Given that arriving back on the ground in one piece is counted as a landing!!

well its time for an update.
i finaly got round to fitting the kadet out.
2 large servo's under the cog mark, battery in the nose next to the esc, reciever up under the l/e.
balanced spot on with no alterations.
did some taxi tests and adjusted the thrust slightly.

then it was time to climb over the fence and go flying.
tracked dead straight and lifted off at 3/4 throttle, had a to wind on a bit of up trim and a touch of right rudder. flew dead straight hands off.
had to abort the flight half way through as the battery lid came off. :P
nice 3 point landing, though a bit fast.

fixed the lid back on and flew again, another good flight until the wind got up and it was time to pack up.

the only down side was that i slipped over in the garden and scraped all the skin off the inside of my left arm. :( :( :(

Well done on the flying, but not well done on your own landing, Tony! :woohoo: It's only pain, don't worry about it!

Finally caught up with this thread. Thanks for showing us the way Tony, and an easy build as you said (for you) I doubt I have the skill or patience for a scratch build (yet) but I'd like to give this a go as a first model build, if it is available as a pre cut kit from KK? :)

www.poly-c.com/ Is this the stuff you used Tony? I have some already, but I've only coated my Stryker Q with it so far, which has now started peeling off after about 15months of all weathers hammer B) . I plan to do some glassing with it soon though.

I was asking myself if it wouldn't be a step backwards for me, flying without ailerons, but I often like to fly both fast and slower models in a single flying session, and stunts can still be performed on R/E models anyway, plus the extra satisfaction from knowing I actually built one, rather the putting a few screws in.

You guys may just make a balsa basher of me yet, but I'll no doubt have a load of questions to ask if you do :)

Martin we are not miracle workers.I dont for one minute believe that going to a 3 channel or even 2 channel is a step backwards. There sre days when its lovely and calm and you can sit in a chair pottering about in the skt with your little 4 stroke purring away that is soooo relaxing, its just great. And on a slightly croos wind day bringing my radio queen in sideways drifting on to the strip for a perfect touch down is such a joy to watch, and you ,the model and the elements are doing it ,real satisfaction. Its the only time I know what the rudder is for.

there is a plan for an aileron wing in KK's collection so you could go 4 channel.

Some tail control models fly quite well in a strong breeze, my Diesel Ben Buckle Novice does. Good fun even though not a fast aerobatic thing.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.
