THE CYPRUS HUNTER was created by THE BLACKBIRD
Well i lost my turbine powered Boomerang Sprint a few weeks back due to loss of signal and a week later the same thing happened with my big CAP 232 180 also with a total loss of signal both dived straight into the ground and totaled both
The Sprint burst into flame on impact and burnt everything nothing survived it was all gone by the time we got to it with the fire extingisher.
I have come to the conclusion that it is my radio and or the spectrum system thats causing my losses, so after a good think about the hobby and wether to give it up i decided to give it another go but with a futaba radio system.
The only thing is now money is rairer than rocking horse shite here so ill have to sell the SU27 to raise the funds to carry on, the Jetcat 100rx has gone back to Jetcat to get an estimate to see if it is viable to rebuild ( i dout it )
thats why the su is for sale as it needs two engines, i want to fly jets again so i decided to scratch build a plane for the remaining turbine that i have ( as buying one is out of the question,
So i got the plans for a Hawker Hunter 96" long, i have all the ply and balsa in stock to build it , this will be the build thread

Sorry to hear of your losses BB, but glad you are back with us. A change of radio gear is maybe a good idea, as you have had too many going in for it to be anything else, and of course Futaba has a different system to Spekky.
An obvious thought, but are there any other flyers on your site using Futaba, and do they have any problems?

Anyhow, as said before, great to have you back .

Garry

Ditto that T. Keeping my mouth shut about your terrible losses was very hard for me! :( So glad you're back, did you investigate the Hobbico/Futaba module for your JR? I have a Futaba 6EX that I'll give you if you're interested.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Devastating is all i can say, the wreckage of the jet was all withing a 1m circle. could not believe what i was seeing
I have the option of a second hand futaba10channal it is 4 years old but only used once 4 years ago, genuin , at £300 or i can go for the new 14cg again futaba at £425 plus postage from the uk,
I thought 300 to much for a 4 year old radio even though its done nothing, the advance in the systems means it is old stuff.
The new may well have a few teething problems and i do not want anymore of them
Thanks for the offer Klippy

A second hand set for £300 seems rather steep to me BB. With the advances that have been made it is old hat and i personnally wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. Why are you worried abot the Futaba 14 sg
, is it because it is new? I have googled it , but can see no reports of it, have you found any ?, and if so were there any problems listed, as you have had more than your share, and as you say, do not need any more .

You can't go wrong with the 14SG, there have been on or two problems, (read RC Groups) the screen has frozen on one or two, but, no loss of control!

Useing the spare plans i copied to make the paterns for the formers, they are all in 3mm and 6mm ply, i need four of most as they are laminated from light and birch ply

the vertical crutch is nearly 96" long so its out of 1200mm sheets 3mm ply

My trusty laser cutter :)

The air intake i made with rolled ply so it needs little doing to it before painting

I planked as much as i could with the fuse half pinned to the bench to keep it straight

First half done second being built

Both now clamped together

and put on the shelf to dry

Good stuff Eric thanks, the plans are from Traplet and they are not to good to be honest, certainly not as good as RCM&E
I am just going to rough it in for a start and see if it flys and only then maybe detail it, like stick a wire undercarage on it rather than spend on retracts,
