Had a couple of flights with the Hunter this morning and have to say it fly's well.
But I think it could do with a bit more thrust, even though it will fly level on half throttle I find the way I fly I use a lot of full throttle, and consequently it uses a lot more fuel than the sports jets im used to, so even with the 3lt tank full I still managed to run out of fuel this morning on the second flight, Well that's my excuse anyway ;)
So I had a dead stick landing, problem was I was late picking it up as I could not hear the turbine had died, only when it started to misbehave did I realise, anyway I got it down ok in the end
Now I have set the timer on the tx to 6 minutes, then ill land and see whats left in the tank

Time for another custom tank then chap?
Can't believe you managed to repair that wing and get her airborne again. I hope you have some good flying time with no more hassles.

Simon

Hmm, pleased for you Tony, as Andy said, 'too much thrust is never enough'!

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Had a 6 minute flight this morning then landed, had a third of a tank of fuel left, so set the timer for seven minutes taxied out to take off throttled up to full power
And no steering
Luckily we have plenty of room so no harm done, a cable had come undone, it had been twisted round each other shrink wrapped and CA run in the joint, so the angle the nose leg is set at to get it fully retracted must be causing a lot of pressure on the wires or more importantly the 12kg digital servo
So only one flight today, still I have Next Saturday morning to fly it then I come to England :( Saturday night

Done the steering so its ready, but had another job to do today
I gave Demetris young boy a trainer a while ago, hes been learning to fly with it, and getting on very well
But Demetri changed the tx and did not set it up the same  he had a hard landing

Could I mend it please

The only colours I had :)

A true modeller.

Shame you can't help him learn to repair it himself.

Simon his dad is the main jet man in the club ( mind there are only three of us now, although a crowed came down from Nicosia at the weekend ) he is also the best pilot in the club,
But they do not repair anything here, they buy new artf and the lad lives the other side of town, other wise he would be encouraged to come round my place and help me build
I could do with another pair of hands on the concreting  :) ;)

Today with nothing better to do i thought i would clean up the hanger rash on the Hunter
[attachment:1]DSC_0002.JPG[/attachment
Think i got carried away :P

Never did like the finish on it, just was not good enough, and the rear end was the wrong shape as it was designed for EDF
Sooo i thought i would do a job on it as it flew well, but i need to shed some weight from the rear so i can get rid of some lead in the front, then it will fly even better
Stripped the planking off the rear bottom to reshape it and get at the formers inside as although to plan there is far to much wood in them

I will move the turbine forward as much as i can

Need to get some paint stripper to get the paint off

The glassing on the fuselage peels off there is no key to the balsa at all :S so ill strip it all off and redo it

Stripped all the air tanks, fuel tank and everything else out, see if i can get it right this time,

Wet the balsa with the resin before you put the mat on and stipple it in!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

What have i started :S a lot of the fibre glass came off willingly but a lot was stuck very well and had to be forced off
And the paint is very hard, paint stripper hardly has any effect on it and sanding is really hard going, but im getting there

took all the retracts out and will replace with electric ones, also the former's at the front that held the nose wheel so i have a big hole there now, good job the wings were done in Pro - Skin with the pressure im puting on it to get the paint off
